It particularly well does the game’s immersive dread and puzzle-solving as well as its mechanics and style. It is a must-see for those fans. Additionally, general horror fans will certainly enjoy Resident Evil. The film’s R-rating is well deserved as those who look for more the more visceral side of horror will certainly appreciate the film. It is entertaining and has plenty of dark humor and some great gore. There is also an engaging, relatable protagonist and the story is very easy to digest, so even horror-movie newbies will have no trouble enjoying the film.

Some audiences may not enjoy Resident Evil. For instance, body horror and intense gore scenes can put some people off, and many of the scenes in the movie include both of these elements. Resident Evil is praised for its humor, but some people may not enjoy the horrifying scenes that are interspersed with comedy. Many people do not like the departures from the original series, which this movie does. Many of the movies do not directly follow the plot of the early games in the franchise. Many of the movies have taken more of a personal/intimate narrative and focused less on the available franchise lore and side characters.
