The Pups work together to save the situation, and the movie uses action and adventure to its fullest extent to create a backdrop of teamwork and gadgetry saving the world from volcanic eruptions. The movie uses action, adventure and fantasy to create a world where technology and modern devices make up a world where the only living beings are the dinosaurs. The movie has an easy to follow plot that allows the characters to really showcase their skills and use their problem solving abilities to their fullest. The synopsis says that this is the biggest rescue mission to date, and they are right! "The Dino Movie" creates a world that fits perfectly in children's literature.

In his review of the movie, Casper Salmon of Variety, said this about it, "it eventually coheres into a half-decent entertainment." Salmon was also quick to praise the movie for having "some well-conceived action sequences, set against a backdrop of surprisingly apocalyptic volcanic activity, drum up a fair bit of jeopardy and suspense." The plot might seem too simple for some, with some characters left undeveloped and uninspired adult dialogue. However, none of those things will matter to its young audience. This movie is a spirited adventure and positive message that Paw Patrol is known for. It has great teaching moments on being brave, valuing your friends and accepting others. A great movie to help achievement with preschool exercises. It is a short adventure filled with great images and a safe, fun movie to help parents achieve entertaining their kids. Chances are if you are expecting anything more than a children's movie without the creativity of Pixar and the Ghibli you will be disappointed. This movie has a great understanding of its audience and doesn't strive for greatness beyond that.
